Background Checks & Fingerprinting

About the Service
The Aurora Police Records Division is often called upon to assist outside agencies with background investigations. We provide information about interaction a resident might have had in the past with the police. In most of these instances, the subject of the investigation is aware of the ongoing background check, having signed a document allowing the inquiry to commence. In certain cases, these investigations are confidential.

Certain professionals, such as a teacher or financial advisor, and certain volunteers, such as a coach or youth leader, require a background or fingerprint check prior to starting their work. Although we can assist you with some of these background investigations, we do not have the ability to conduct fingerprint checks.
