Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin visited local company Cabmat recently to see its newaddition and new equipment in which the company has invested.
Family-owned, Cabmat is a recycler and broker of scrap metal including copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and steel. The company, located in the industrial park, was the beneficiary of a 15-year, 100% abatement in 2018 for its new 15,000 square foot addition expected to bring in ten more jobs. The addition houses a $2 million copper shredding machine used to separate copper wire from plastic coatings.
