U.S. Marshal and Aurora resident Pete Elliott was named the Aurora Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year yesterday in a small ceremony. Evan Webster, representing the Chamber, gave the award along with proclamations from elected officials including U.S. Senator Rob Portman and Senator Sherrod Brown. Pete also was presented with a Key to the City by Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin. Pete is the longest serving U.S. Marshal in Ohio history, having been appointed to the position by President George W. Bush in 2003, then retained by President Barack Obama in 2009 and President Donald Trump in 2017.
