Aurora Lake Road is riddled with massive potholes (large in both depth and overall size), as a result cars are left swerving between lanes trying to avoid damage to their tires, rims, and suspensions; though in many cases the damage can not be avoided resulting in expensive vehicle repairs. The driving patterns deployed to avoid the potholes impose dangerous risks to the residents that jog, bike, and walk on this street. With the work that is currently being done on Nautilus Trail, all traffic has been detoured to this road making it impossible for some Aurora residents to avoid using the road. It seems that the city should be responsible for repairing this road if it is going to be a designated detour route, or other accommodations should be made as to not enforce residents to drive on such a poorly maintained road.

Due to the number of children, pedestrians and bike riders, could we consider installing speed bumps as you enter Aurora Shores from Aurora Lake Road? The speed limit is 25mph, but residents estimate the average speed of cars coming into the Shores from that direction to be 45-50 mph. We have nearly had two accidents with automobiles and bicycles and one with a car slamming on brakes to avoid striking a child due to excessive speeds in the last week alone (not uncommon at all). Pets and wildlife are frequently struck/killed by speeding vehicles. If we can't have speed bumps installed then police should monitor traffic in this area for awhile to slow traffic down. The income alone from one week of doing this would more than pay for the speed bumps as over two dozen tickets would easily be issued in a single day (it's that bad).
