Councilman Rausch won the November 2005 election and began his first term as Ward Three Councilman in January 2006. He is the chairman of the Quality Committee, member of the Finance Committee, and is the liaison to the Aurora Schools Foundation. Previously Counciman Rausch served as the alternate liaison to the Chamber of Commerce and the chairman of the Business Development Committee.
Councilman Rausch graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Engineering Operations and later received an M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He also completed The Executive Program at the University of Virginia. Mr. Rausch is retired following a 35 year career with General Motors and Delphi Corporations where he served in a broad range of areas including engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, planning, business development and general management. The Rausch Family moved to Aurora seven years ago following an overseas assignment in Singapore where he served as Director of Asian Pacific Operations.
Mr. Rausch and wife Valerie have three children. The youngest, John, is a junior at Aurora High School, son Bryan is a Tampa, Florida resident, and daughter Allison resides in Columbus, Ohio. They also have three grandsons, Jack, Brady and Colin.
Councilman Rausch serves as Chairperson for Bainbridge Christian Preschool, is on the Board of Directors of Wartburg Theological Seminary, serves on the College of Engineering Advisory Board at Iowa State University, and is President of Barrington Golf Club. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and golf, working on his lawn and in his garden, reading, vacationing, and spending time with his family. |
