Councilman James Fisher began serving as Ward Five Councilman in September 2003. He was appointed to fill the vacancy left by Patrick McFarland. He was elected in March 2004 to complete the remainder of the term and was re-elected in 2005. He is Council President and currently serves on the Finance Committee, Quality Committee, Audit Committee, Treasury Investment Board and the Economic Development Board. Previously Mr. Fisher served as Chairman of the Technology Commission, liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, and as a member of the Parks and Recreation Board and Service and Utilities Committee.
Councilman Fisher is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and a retired executive from Bristol-Myers Squibb. Throughout his professional career he worked in the New York Clairol and Cleveland Matrix divisions. As a sales executive, his responsibilities encompassed executive sales management, customer development, and business development.
Councilman Fisher is married to Mary Jo, and currently serves on the Walden Association Board and the Walden Golf and Country Club Advisory Board. His interests include traveling, golf, wine collecting, spectator sports, and spending time with family and friends.
