Councilman Joe Kastelic began his third term as Council at Large in January 2006.  Councilman Kastelic was Chairman of the Safety Committee for 10 years.  He has served on the Audit Committee, Business Development Committee, Utilities Committee, Park and Recreation Board and as a Citizen Representative on the Aurora Safety Committee from 1994-1997. He currently serves on the Quality Committee, Firemen's Dependency Board,the Planning Commission and as an alternate liaison to the Chamber of Commerce. Councilman Kastelic is a graduate of the Richmond Heights Hospital Paramedic Course and the Cuyahoga Community College Firefighters Academy. He has continued his education through the Ohio State Fire Academy, the Ohio EPA, the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Ohio State Patrol and Cleveland Clinic (Hillcrest) Hospital. For the past 25 years, he has worked as a professional firefighter for the City of Pepper Pike. 

Councilman Kastelic volunteers by organizing the annual Aurora City Auction.  He has served as the City of Aurora's Team Captain for the annual Relay for Life over the past several years.  He is the acting auctioneer for both of these events.

Councilman Kastelic and his wife, Anne, have been married for 26 years. They have two children, Melissa and Joseph and one grandchild, Kaeleigh.   In his spare time Mr. Kastelic enjoys running and has completed a marathon.
