FOR MUNICIPAL INCOME TAX

 

BUSINESSES AND RESIDENTS CAN FILE TAXES AND MAKE PAYMENTS ON-LINE THROUGH

 

The Regional Income Tax Agency (R.I.T.A.) at www.ritaohio.com.

 

Employers filing withholding returns are provided two choices:

Ø       Fill in a simple withholding form, or

Ø       Attach a payroll file

 

A secured ACH payment (electronic debit of a checking account) completes the filing.

 

Individual taxpayers are provided the following features:

Ø       A simple step-by-step calculation of taxes or refunds

Ø       Ability to file even if you moved in 2011

Ø       Electronic transfer of refunds into checking or savings accounts

Ø       Pay by credit card or ACH (electronic debit of checking or savings accounts)

Ø       Delay payment of taxes – file as early as you like and set up an ACH payment anytime before April 15th, 2012

 

Here’s what you’ll need to E-FILE:

Ø       Social Security numbers for yourself and your spouse

Ø       W2 forms from all employers

Ø       1099 forms and Federal Schedules C, E, & F.

Ø       Date of move for residents that moved in 2011

All Aurora residents and partial year residents, 18 years of age or older, must file an annual City income tax return, whether or not any tax is due.
 
All individuals under eighteen (18) years of age are exempt from the Aurora income tax and are eligible for a refund of Aurora municipal tax that was withheld by the employer.
 
Any person or entity who operated a business or owed rental property in Aurora, must file a return.
