Fire hydrants need to be kept clear in the snowy weather.  Please shovel around any fire hydrant on or near your property to allow easy access for the Fire Department in the event it is needed.  Safety is everyone's responsibility!

The Portage County Health Department will hold an H1N1 Flu Vaccine Clinic at Craddock Elementary School, 105 Hurd Road in Aurora on Tuesday, January 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  For more information, visit http://www.co.portage.oh.us/H1N1.htm or call the Health Dept. at 330-296-9919.  The vaccine is free.

We will be holding our annual blood drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross on Thursday, December 24, 2009 from 8:00 - 2:00 p.m.  Help make this drive a success and stop up at Fire Station #1, 65 W. Pioneer Trail.  After donating blood, you're welcome to have some of the Chief's Firehouse Chili!!!!!!

Ohio's Child Passenger Safety Law has changed.....
Every child under 8 years old must ride in a booster seat or other appopriate child safety seat unless the child is 4'9" or taller.  Every child from 8 - 15 years old who is not secured in a car seat must be secured in the vehicle's seat belt.  A six month warning period starts on 10/7/09 with full enforcement beginning 4/7/10.  Children under 13 years old should ride in the back seat.
